Stress levels normal ?
I am 43 and waiting to have a hysterectomy as treatment for atypical hyperplasia and am finding this web site invaluable. Have been quite sane till now but had a bad day at work where everything seemed to pile on top of me and I couldn't cope. Felt that I was about to burst into tears . Are my hormones having a practice for menopause and is it normal to feel so out of control with a few little upsets ?

Stress levels normal ?
I get that! Yesterday I was totally crazy at work and nearly burst into tears several times. Today I was just so fatiqued I couldn't think. When I woke in the middle of the night last night with pain and bleeding, I suddenly realized why. I just keep telling myself, this is my second to last...

Stress levels normal ?
The stress of waiting or planning can really get to you especially if you are trying to get everything in place before your trip to the castle. I had a couple days this week that were flat out overwhelming and I just got up from my desk and took a walk, because I couldn't concentrate and the panic "piling on" by my work teams was out of control.
If you can step away for a bit, like a smoke break minus the smoke, it might give yourself time to collect your thoughts and prioritize what you can get done for the day and put work back into perspective. Don't forget to pamper yourself as you wait, you want to go in as healthy and stong as possible. And don't forget to reach out to your sisters here it'll give you an anchor to hang on to.

Stress levels normal ?
Dear all,
I felt exactly the same way and it got especially bad about 2 weeks before my surgery.
I found that taking a low dose of an anti-anxiety medication helped especially with sleep. Walking is also a great way to relieve stress and help build up your strength.
Waiting is the hardest part. This was my first surgery.
It was no where near as bad as I had expected and my surgery was far more extensive than planned.
to you.

Stress levels normal ?
thanks for the support. IIt is good to know that others feel the same way and that I am not crazy or needing a Psych consult yet. The waiting is causing me some insomnia but trying to sleep as much as I can and keep stress levels down. Not always easy if you work in a busy Office with some folk who do not seem to see the stress you are dealing with.

Stress levels normal ?
Yer I have been pretty stressed out about it all and the past 2 weeks have been a nightmare! Will be glad to get it over and done with now really. The waiting is a killer! Too much time to think about everything really.

Stress levels normal ?
I don't know what I would do without this site. Having someplace to vent and discuss whats going on in my head has kept my family from having to listen to it, and add to the stress of my everyday life. Some days I do great, and can keep myself busy enough that a few hours might actually go by where I'm not obsessing, other days I'm bursting into tears or just feeling emotionally drained and fatigued. I had a good day yesterday, but was up at 2 am with my mind racing, and abdominal aches and pains. I just ended a cycle on Thursday, but had those crampy feelings like I was going to start again. I'm still uncomfortable this morning, and totally exhausted from lack of sleep. This last period was very strange; started 4 days later then usual, no pms, or pain and cramps before starting, heavy period with excruciating pain for two days. Now I have post-ms symptoms, cramping and ZITS!!! which I never get. My emotions go from giddy to crying to all out anger at the flick of the switch, and I have the nausea which usually comes with the heavy bleeding.
It has to be hormones going crazy. If all this is practice for menopause, then I'll be on top of the game by the time my surgery gets here! I'm scheduled for a week before you, and I can't wait for it to be over. I'm actually looking forward to the castle stay so I can let someone else take the reins at home for a few days and have some time to process this whole ordeal by myself. It will be quite an adjustment not to have all these worries flooding my thoughts everyday, and not to be constantly thinking about when a bout of pain is going to occur. Having a normal life seems only a dream right now, I wonder how long after surgery it will be before it all sinks in?????
Best wishes to you, you are not alone!
Donna
