why the discomfort?
I will be 5 weeks post op tomorrow. I had a LAVH/BSO on July 7th. I don't know how to ask this without just saying it, so here it goes. I am having discomfort down around my vaginal opening and general area. I went to the doctor and she thinks its because I am dry. I have been using rephresh and I've tried some lubericant just on the area. It seems to help some, but it is still uncomfortable. It does seem to get worse as the day goes on. It is like I have some in my pants, I was afraid something was dropping out or something, but the doctor assures me everything is healing fine and looks good. Maybe I am just more sensitive down there. I am having no pain or trouble during sex. And it doesn't seem as bad and even pretty good in the morning , but like I mentioned it seems to get worse as the day goes on. I just wonder if anyone else is experiencing this and any advice of what to try.

Re: why the discomfort?
My first thought was- you were cleared for sex already?

Re: why the discomfort?
My first question too was- your cleared for sex? But as far as the pain, I'm 9 weeks out and still have pain and aches in the groin. Although much less each week. I started back to work at 5 weeks and I remember that I was still terribly uncomfortable, even with feeling like something was going to fall out when I was out for my walks. So hopefully it will be something that will get better with in time for you- I know how frustrating it is when it is happening because it seems like it is taking forever to recover.
One thing my MD did was check me with a QTip for vulvar vestibulitis, which has always been a problem for me. It was definitely acting up and he thought it could be due to being irritated from the surgical prep that was applied. Anyway, He had me on pretty intense regimen of daily vaginal estrogen and a steroid cream, clobetesol which helped the tissue out quite a bit. It helped tremendously, so I don't know if at least using the estrogen would be an option for you to help the tissues heal.
I hope things get better quickly for you!
