Gas pains!

Vaginal hysterectomy Monday 22. Went very well. Minimal pain @ hospital. Home since yesterday and I feel like I am taking my pain pills for the gas pain. Taking gas x and walking any other suggestions? . Gas pain up to shoulders.

Gas pain was my worse pain - and of course, it's right after surgery! Try to walk 10 minutes for every hour you are awake. Drink lots and lots of water - just keep a water bottle with you. Eat fruit and drink fuit juice. Prune juice does help move BM's, but it also increases gas -- warm it for the fastest effect. Watch what you eat - don't eat any gas casuing foods -- google to find out what that includes (most veggies.) Stay strong, this to will pass - figuratively and literally! Also take your stool softener!!!

Gas pains were the worst for me also. Short walks, light stretching, gas x, and ginger ale were all a big help for me. Also be careful with your diet. I hope you feel better soon ♡ sending gentle hugs!!

I had the same surgery on that same day .The gas problems are the worst of it. I just got home from the hospital today. I ve been doing a lot of walking and drinking water. i dont regret having the procedure done. O:-)

Hi Nicole72, I know gas pains been having them for two full weeks now. One of my nurses made me a tea to help ease my gas pains. (It made me burp a lot). It is real easy to make, you just pour some ginger ale into a glass, heat it for about a minute or so in the microwave, then take a tea bag and steep it in the glass of ginger ale and drink while it's still hot/warm. Also try a hot peppermint drink or peppermint tea. That helped me.
