Bleeding after 16 days.. Is that normal? Help

Hi all,

I'm not exactly sure how I got here or what to do but hello to you all, and I hope you're all feeling great.

I had my surgery 9th Nov, so I'm 16 days in.. Started to bleed 2 days ago, enough that I have to wear a pad but not dripping... Is that normal? I thought the bleeding was well and truly over. Hmmm...

I had to stay ten days in hospital instead of the 3 that I was told because my bladder just wouldn't work and I ended up in excruciating pain, busting all the time.. so they had to put a catheter in a couple of times for a couple of days.. But that's now on the mend.. Woo hoo... Then had to go back 4 days ago as I had a UTI so had to stay on the drip all day at the hospital, but feeling much better now.

I must confess I did go out and finish my Christmas shopping the day I started bleeding.. I picked up nothing and I strolled... but I was out for nearly 6 hours and I'm wondering if maybe that's pushed me over? Not sure.

Thanks to all in here.. I'm hoping to be able to find any replies to this since I have no clues what I'm doing in here...

Hugs from Australia... Knok..

Hi (((Knok)))

And hugs to you! I am glad that you have found your way here!

A six hour outing is a very long one. It is not surprising that you are having some bleeding. Having said that, you are also at a point in your recovery where it is pretty typical for stitches to start to dissolve which creates a discharge that looks like old blood. This can continue for a number of weeks. Mine was until just under six weeks.

Please do take it easy though. In the long run, you will heal faster. All the best to you!

<--what Knok should be doing more.

yup that can be normal. A good place to get information on what to expect and what is normal vs not normal are the hyster checkpoints on this site.
