6weeks and back at work

hello ladies,
well i went to my 6-week post op and the dr. said i was healing fine but that there was still alot of healing going on inside!! i told her that i felt great so we shortened the original 8wks off to just 6 weeks and i started back to work this past monday. i am working full 8 hr days. by the time the end of the work day got here on monday, i thought they were going to have to roll me to my car. tuesday--still just whooped and my belly was so swollen & starting to hurt. wednesday much of the same but today i am so very swollen and my belly is so sore it hurts for my pants to even rub my belly. it hurts to touch it. is all of this normal??
i have a desk job and i am just hoping that it is because of the constant sitting upright for 8 straight hours. any tips on how to deal with this?
everyone has been such a big help!!!

6weeks and back at work

I am so up in the air about when to return to work. My doctor says she has them going back between 3-6 weeks depending on the situations. She says the early ones usually are self-employed and have to get back. Even then, the "no lifting" rule applies. I teach grade school and am on my feet all day. Many times, at the end of the day, I pull out my desk chair and my bookbag from that morning is still in the chair. Doc did say that I would be exhausted by the end of the day if I returned early. I have the time built up if I need to take more, but hate to use it if I don't need to. I just hit the 2+week post-op and know there is no way I could return next week. Yesterday's short walk and trip to Dollar General with my husband was tiring. I'm anxious for my doctor's appointment mext week to be assured that I 'm doing good and her opinion about returning to work. I feel good, just tire easily and a inner slight burn on my right side. Take Care and God bless!

6weeks and back at work

Sorry you were so uncomfortable going back to work.I went back after six weeks and did pretty good.I am on my feet as a hostess in a restaurant.Work a 5 hour shift. The first week I did feel a tightness in my stomach. This week has been fine.Do you get a chance to get up frequently and walk around? Maybe that would help.Hope you are feeling better soon. Are you wearing loose fitting clothes? Also might help.
