Is it normal to still have spotting 7 weeks post-hysterectomy

I had a total hysterectomy by Da Vinci Robotics 7 weeks ago. My doctor saw me 2 weeks post-op and did an internal and said I'll see you in a year. I called the next week as I still had pain. She did another internal and said everything looked good and possibly I have a hernia. 3 days after that I started spotting and have been ever since. It's usually when I get up in the morning. I wipe and there is pink and then I put on a panty liner and by the time I get to work, there's spotting. Not a lot, but it's been 7 weeks and I don't know if this is normal. I also get twinges of pain and pinching all across my abdomen. Has this happened to anyone else?

Re: Is it normal to still have spotting 7 weeks post-op

I'm at 6 weeks post op now and having similar problems. Saw a surgeon today (mine was away). She was concerned enough to send me for blood, urine and a pelvic ultrasound. She did a pelvic exam and said things look OK inside but wants to make sure I don't have an infection or something else going on inside me that she can't see.
I have also been having a lot of pain again since Saturday.

I was told if the pain or discharge gets worse or if I start running a fever again to go to emergency.

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well either. Best of luck and hope you feel better soon

I'm 6 weeks post op and still spotting also. Mostly in the morning. I'm assuming I'm just a slow healer. I think this maybe normal for some.

Re: Is it normal to still have spotting 7 weeks post-hysterectomy

I'm at 9 weeks post Davinci hysterectomy. I went to the dr just last week because I was still spotting. I have a couple of stitches that haven't healed yet. I had no spotting up until about 5 weeks, and today was the first day since then with none. So I think it's normal, and we all heal differently. I did notice that the more I tried to do physically, the more I spotted. Just take it easy and give yourself time to heal.
