Staples come out today!

I am 1 week post op today. I'm going in to get the staples out. Looks like my skin is kind of growing over them. Any advice before I go in? How painful is this going to be? Should I put Neosporin on it before I go in so it will soften it or should I just leave it dry?

Also, I have been home since 1 day post op. My cycle started four days before my surgery and yesterday I started feeling the pain I usually get during ovulation. I had a TAH but they left one ovary. Should I be expecting hormonal problems and pain from ovulation? Is is just painful because I'm not healed inside yet? Please someone give me some reassurrance. Thanks

My advice for staple removal is maybe take some tylenol before you go....it really doesn't hurt much(just a little sting on some...most I didn't feel at all)but a little pain reliever might at least ease your mind some. Good luck!

I'd take a painkiller before you go...you're probably already done and I hope it went well, but having my staples out really hurt! One was twisted and took forever to pull out.
