Is It Just the Full Moon?

Help, ladies!

Please tell me that it's OK to feel like screaming or crying and not know which to do. Had a really great state of mind - all ready for the hyster on Wednesday - then get a call TODAY - when they did the lung X-ray last Tuesday for my pre-op, I told the tech to let the radiologist know that I had psitticosis (like a lot of people who grow up in the Ohio River valley area) and it shows up on the X-rays like scarring or something. No one listens and I no longer have anyone who has previous X-rays to compare with so my surgery is now postponed and I have to have a CT Scan of my lungs on Thursday. I am SOOOO FRUSTRATED!! Need some good thoughts and encouragement tonight - apologized to the resident who called me for the GYN Oncologist - she asked if the appt they set for the CT Scan on Thursday was OK or did I have a problem with the time? When she asked that, I sarcastically told her no - no problem because I had blocked that day out as one when I would be in the hospital recovering from the surgery. Apologized because I knew it wasn't her fault but just couldn't seem to be all calm about this last minute postponement. What do I do, sisters? Will this stuff ever end?

How FRUSTRATING! I know I would be devestated too. All of the nerves leading up to this and now it's postponed. You must feel like punching a wall. What is 'psitticosis'? I've never heard from it - doesn't sound too pleasant. Do you have any idea as to when they will re-schedule? Did you have to arrange time off work for the surgery, and now have to deal with that again too?
It would be useless for me to tell you not to fret and to not be frustrated...how can you NOT be? Just know that I feel your pain. What a pain ... I hope that you won't have to wait too much long to re-schedule and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Is It Just the Full Moon?

Not a work issue. I'm here taking care of my mother who isn't well and had just managed to get "all the little ducks in a row" as far as people to take her to her chemotherapy she's having right now and to bring her up to the hospital to see me,etc. I never even knew I had caught psitticosis - dr said a lot of the time it just seems like a case of the 24 hour flu - no pain - just aggravation every time they do X-rays. I'm going nuts - thought the waiting was almost over.

Thanks for your good thoughts.

Is It Just the Full Moon?

How frustrating! I found out I had scars on my lungs when I was going thru the immigration process... My application got held up while I waited four months to see a specialist, who referred me to a CT scan, which took another six weeks to get it in... Not fun. My scars were caused from something called Valley Fever ages ago when I was growing up in south Texas.

I hope things are resolved quickly for you!

Nyxluna -
Swear from now on, I'm going to have a copy of an X-ray that I carry with me and a radiologist's report - then MAYBE I won't get so frustrated at the last minute. Was so ready for the waiting to be over!

Good luck on your surgery - you may make it before I do!

Hugs,
Jeanne
