Narcotics switch after hysterectomy

I ran out of my norcos yesterday afternoon and felt ok just taking ibu profen but now it's a new day and a new story. Im extremely restless and sore and feel pain in my abdomen.. Just a slight sting and an ache. The doctors are closed today for the holiday so I can't call them, I'm wondering if anyone thinks it would be safe to take a Percocet that I have laying around from my last surgery. Would that hurt me, taking too many different meds around the same time?

Re: Narcotics switch

Maybe you can find a pharmacy open and ask the pharmacist.

Re: Narcotics switch

No, Percocet and norco are similar. Both have Tylenol and hydrocodone, just different amounts.

Narcotics switch after hysterectomy

Thanks ladies. I was just reading up about them online. Looks like Percocet is just a stronger version of norco. Seems like I'd be ok to take one since I haven't even had a norco in 24hrs now and have only had ibuprofen

We can't legally tell you to take a prescription medication that was not written for you to take with this surgery. You will need to speak to your surgeon or your pharmacist.

Even on a holiday, someone should be available through your doctor's answering service.

Since the percocet was written for you, if I read it right, and you have not taken the norco and your researched showed you the difference, I think you found your answer.

Also might try laying down with a heating pad or ice pack - whichever makes you feel better. Many here like the heating pad. For me the ice seemed to work better.
