BM's

when i was released on Tuesday afternoon from the hospital I had plenty of gas, but since then not much and still have not had a bowel movement.. Is this normal? I also have not been eating a lot, but drinking tons of water...

I didn't have a BM for a few days, I didn't eat much after the surgery, loss of appetite, and I cleansed the day before. My first BM was no problem.

Sounds normal but dont let it go on too long. I had a BM 4 days after surgery with the help of fleet supository, prune juice, lots of water. It took the pressure off my tummy and I felt a little better.

It took me about 4 days after surgery. the first ones can be a little painful, It was for me.

I had done the bowel prep and then I didn't eat much the next day I just slept & ate soup & things so I didn't have much to digest. I do take flaxseed oil.

I should note I had an adhesion to the bowel that was removed so maybe that is why mine was so painful.

Started Miralax, colace and gasx on day after surgery and had 1st one on day 2. The miralax worked great since my dr. said no straining with my repairs...also drank lots of water and juice. Good luck!
