Back from seeing my doctor....

Its official--I'm one of the "pre-op" ladies now. My doctor agreed with me 100% and I will be having a TAH in about 4 weeks.
I'm not a candidate for the ablation procedure because my cervix is practically closed. There were 2 other options--the depo shot which I refuse to do because the hormones I'm already on are screwing up my head and then the hysterectomy. We both agreed that it is the best decission and now I'm back home sitting here scared to death!!!!
She has to do it through my abdomen because of the tight cervix and because of too much scar tissue from previous c-sections. She said I'll be in the hospital 2-3 days and then I'm looking at a 6 week recovery.
Oh gosh.....I'm going to be a basket case......

Don't be afraid. I had a TVH on 9/15 and I pretty much scared myself to death. It was fine. I can't say what the abdominal hyst is like, but the vaginal one was OK.

Ask any questions here, everyone is SO friendly.

I remember how scared I was when I learned of my need fot a hysterectomy. It sounds like you and your dr weighed your options and made the decision that would help you best
