Last dr visit at 3 wks? Depression
I had TLAVH on the 29th of Aug. On the 20th I had a check-up and the office ladies said they don't need to see me again. He said return to work at 6 wks but did not mention a note or anything to my employer, said hold off on sex, take jogging slow, and gave me 1mg of estradiol pills. I feel ok, but I still have pain every day and my bladder hurts when full. It is probably me, but I sort of feel like my co-workers expect me to come back and I am not keen on the physical exhaustion which awaits me as a 1st gr teacher working 10 hrs a day at 6 wks.
I have been depressed for several months, had these tingly feelings, regular migraines, bad dry eye, and now the heat waves are increasing in number. I had them before at night, but now I have 6-7 a night instead of 1-2. After I get hot I get really cold and shiver. Normal? On top of all that I had gastritis and esophagitis (fungal infection) over the summer and lost 15 lbs. I tried anti-depressants but I felt drugged, I am however in counseling.
I just read hormone imbalances can cause all of those things. I wonder if it me or my mind-or hormones? I sure hope 1mg of estradiol is enough. I wonder if I should see another dr and not waste his time. It seemed to me they'd want to see me again to see if 1mg was ok. Is this what other drs do??--prescribe you a hormone and say "see ya."

Sorry to hear that things are not going so well for you but you are still early on in your recovery. Take it easy and it will get better. I was not aware that teachers work 10 hours a day! wow over here in ontario they only work 9-3. Well keep your chin up and I promise it will get better.

My Dr wanted to see me at 2 weeks and then again at 6 weeks.
I think you should asked to be seen again if that is going to make you more comfortable. If you gyno won't see you, see your GP. As sad as it is, we have to take control of our healthcare. Take care.

I was surprised when my gyne didn't want to see me at all until 6 weeks post op. I was having pain++ and I also had bladder pain when full (still do) so I saw him twice before the six week mark and also my GP. My point is, if you feel you need to see him, if you have any concerns at all you should call for an appt. He's there to take care of you.

JRTs
It can be a challenge to balance hormones. So many drs (whether it is hormones or other medicines like anti-depressants) will want to see you afterwards to make sure that things are properly balanced.
Give it a little bit of time and call your Dr. if things don't settle. You may find that your gyn isn't the one to do your hormone work, maybe your PCP should take it over or maybe even check into an endocrinologist. I know I had to try several anti-depressants in varying dosages so I didn't have adverse effects from it.
as you sort this out.

My doctor called me at 1 week, then saw me in his office at 3 weeks, then 6 weeks. He then told me that I had to come in every 6 months for a check up. I ended up coming in again at 4 months because of a granulation problem that did not heal.
Surgery #2. I had bleeding during my vacation, and had to see him again. Hopefully, I will heal during my restriction from sex for a month. My next visit is scheduled for February 4 (a little over 3 months from the last time I saw him).
I am lucky because my cancer hospital (teaching hospital) strives to do everything at a higher standard. They make sure all the employees are "patient pleasers." I am awed by the standard of care that I have had. I am sure that others can report the same experience across the country.
I would ask to speak with the doctor. Bring him your list of concerns. Tell him you do not feel comfortable being released from his/her care yet. Give him a chance to fix whatever.
If he refuses, ask why. This is substandard care.
Let him know that you are not happy and leave.
Then get another opinion from another doctor.
You may have to switch doctors. Complain to the insurance company and the hospital advocacy department.
If he has a bad attitude, you don't want him anymore.
Some doctors are great at doing the surgery, but not so good at the follow-ups, as there is less insurance money paid.
This is especially true of private practice.
Good Luck.
