B-12 Deficiency

Yeah but not from the hysterectomy but from Gastric bypass in 2005. Anyway, I take sublingual vitamin b12 and iron. It seems to help me out. I also take prenatals, calcium with vit D and Sea Kelp since its got iodine and helps with thyroid function. I have to be very careful to keep up with my vitamins. I know when I miss a day. I am tired more easily. Are you taking anything? There was this iron that some of the ladies were taking over on my other boards and I can't remember what it is but it was suppose to help with better absorbtion. Do you currently take b12? Try the sublingual kind. Its better absorbed also.
Good luck

B-12 Deficiency

Don't have one, but know others who do.....they have to have blood work to determine level of anemia, then they are given B-12 vitamins, or Iron pills. I had the blood test done to see if the B-12 deficiency is the cause for my Restless Leg Syndrome. Hope this helps!

B-12 Deficiency

Thanks for your replies. I did have the blood tests done and that is how I found out I am lacking B12. I received B12 injections once a week for three weeks and now will get them once a month. I am also taking B12 vitamins which are water soluable so the B12 does not stay in the system very long. I would take iron but I already have trouble with constipation!

I will try the calcium with vit D and sea kelp.

THANKS for your replies!

B-12 Deficiency

Try going to a health food store or probably a vitamin store. Before my hyst I was taking iron twice a day as told by my dr to try to build up my iron levels. I was anemic. The health food store had an iron supplement that has a natural stool softener and even taking it twice a day did not constipate me like others have. Sorry, I can't remember the name of it.

Woo that sounds great! I have one near me and I am going to look for that. Right now constipation is the last thing we need on top of it all! Thanks!

B-12 Deficiency

My mom is a Homeopathic Dr. and got me on Isotonix vitamins 10 years ago. These vitamins are pharmaceutical quality and are in your blood in 5 minutes. I, too, was anemic and do not absorb B-12. My mom used to get B-12 shots before finding this B-12 and tests have shown that she gets the SAME amount of B-12 in this vitamin as the shots. I have been taking them for 10 years and feel great! There is also a product called Multi-mineral that I take that works great---same pharmaceutical brand. Here is a link:
