c-diff and pelvic infection
When will it stop?!
I have been put on Levaquin and Vancomyocin for my pelvic infection and c-diff. If I'm not showing some kind of progress by Thursday, i have to go back in the hospital.
Anyone else been through this?

Re: c-diff and pelvic infection
Oh no!
I haven't been told I have an infection, but I've been dealing bouts of diarrhea daily since my BMs came back. The Nurse Practicitioner didn't seem concerned, but I spoke with my operating doc later, and he told me to keep an eye on it because it could be a sign of something going on.
I'm so sorry you are dealing with this! I've heard c-diff is really difficult to manage. I hope the meds kick in quickly!! (((HUGS)))

Re: c-diff and pelvic infection
I've come to the general conclusion that my body hates me basically. I'm really nervous about ending up back in the hospital. I don't do well away from my family.

Re: c-diff and pelvic infection
I hoping you don't wind up back in the hospital. Im not where you are exactly but I am on Levaquin for an infection that we are waiting to see how it goes. I have to go back Thursday. Im not sure what she will do at that point if she feels it isnt better.
Hang in there...try to take it one day at a time. Please keep us posted!

Re: c-diff and pelvic infection
I'm on my second bout with C-diff! At least this time, I didn't end up in the hospital!
I left the hospital after my surgery with a diagnosed UTI and was put on levaquin (sp?), then when I went for my 2 week check, I had another UTI (resistant to levaquin) so was put on Bactrim. A week later I ended up in the hospital with C-diff. Took my prescribed course of Flagyl for 14 days and a week after I was done with them, I had C-diff again!!!
I am REALLY hoping that because this is a much less severe bout, the meds will knock it down. The cure numbers aren't too reassuring.

Re: c-diff and pelvic infection
I'm not sure about this c-diff stuff and know very little about it other than how bad it is. I do know I had a post op infection that out me back in the hospital for 3 days iv antibiotics of leviquin and vancomycin and something else. It does suck and I hope this works for you.
