Ovaries And Cyst ??????? Im An Idiot!

Sorry if I am posting in the wrong place and VERY LONG..

HERE GOES:
So I finally got the doctor to belive me that it might be Cyst and not a Kidney stone... They did an ultra sound and there it was a cyst, not that big 5cm ( YEAH RIGHT ) thats what she said and the gyno said the same thing. SO they put me threw hell for a year and did an ablation but nothing for the cyst. This July it happened again back in the ER. SO I went back to GYN and he looks at me and says there IS NOTHING ON THE ULTRASOUD its all in your head your need to see a SHRINK!!!! so I get a second opinion and she says that I need a Hysterectomy. OK FINE, JUST DO SOMETHING TO GET ME OUT OF THIS PAIN!!!

Right before I have to go back and see her I wind up in the ER AGAIN same old same old stuff!!! Your ultrasound is normal!!! So she says ok lets do surgery, WOO HOO I had my surgery on the 27th of Aug and my mom is telling me after surgery that there was a LARGE LEMON SIZE CYST ON MY RIGHT OVARY THAT THEY REMOVED ( CYST ONLY ) AND THEY HAD TO DRAIN THE OTHER OVEARY??????? HUH, WHAT THE HELL????

SO WHAT I AM TRYING TO FIGURE OUT IS IF THERE WERE CYST BEFORE SURGERY AND THEY LEFT BOTH OVARIES DON'T YOU THINK A CYST OF THAT SIZE AND HAVING TO DRAIN THE OTHER MIGHT HAVE DAMAGED MY OVARIES??? WON'T THOSE THINGS GROW BACK AGAIN??? I AM TRULLY SCARRED ABOUT THIS NOW.

SORRY TO GO ON AND ON, BUT IT REALLY JUST HIT ME TODAY ABOUT MY OVARIES! AND I HAD SURGERY ALMOST 4 WEEKS AGO? I DON'T KNOW IF ITS MY MIND OR THE MEDS???

Ovaries And Cyst ??????? Im An Idiot!

Hi there,
I am sorry that you have been through soo much, and I can totally understand your frustration. I cannot answer and questions, hopefully someone will come along who can.
They were probably weighing the options, put you into menopause, or get rid of the cysts and hope they don't grow back. Maybe only time will tell.
I hope you get some answers.

Ovaries And Cyst ??????? Im An Idiot!

I had a dermoid cyst 5 years ago when i delivered my daughter by c-section. They found it removed it and told me to go on with life.. they said they saved everything. 5 years almost to the day later they found a mature teratoma. It was attached to the other ovary. Different kind of tumor. I would say the best person to talk about this with is your doctor. I know of one woman who had fibroid cysts that were always coming back. I dont know how it works with the overies. Mine are gone now so i wont have to worry. Although as wierd as my life is i probalby will grow a set back.

Ovaries And Cyst ??????? Im An Idiot!

Wow.. sounds like me the past five years... So sorry to hear you are going through this. Thought for sure i was losing my mind and no one would listen. Had my daughter in 2001 and tubes tied. Since then nothing but problems, especially ovarian cysts, not small ones either, every year after my daughter was born, to the month another huge cyst the size of a tennis ball/soft ball would show up again, developed severe Endometriosis and my ovaries we no longer producing the estrogen the were suppose to.
Went pre menopausal at the early age of 34, and the pain just got worse every year!
Years of " the ultrasound is normal" until the cyst got the size of a tennis ball the the pain was unbearable. Finally after 5 years of pain and i harped on my doctor to help, i said NO MORE!!!! i will not go through another surgery unless it all goes. Had my one and only miracle baby and i wanted my life back. LSH everything but the cervix gone, Sept 13th the day after my daughters 6th B-day
What is come down to girl, You of all people know your body,if you suspect something is not right and one doc tells ok everything is fine, get another opinion and another and another until someone actually listens to you.
Don't put yourself through years of pain and suffering when you do not have too!!!!
BEST OF LUCK TO YOU ALWAYS!!!!

Ovaries And Cyst ??????? Im An Idiot!

How frustrating that all must have been for you. My path to the hysterectomy started with an E/R visit due to a cyst causing a lot of pain. My doctor, however, ended up taking out my uterus and leaving both my ovaries. He said that they looked fine and without the uterus there, they shouldn't give me any more pain. He said they will still produce cysts because that is their job, really, but that it won't be painful. I went a long with all of this because I think he is an excellent surgeon and I chose to trust him, and I didn't want to be thrown into menopause right now if I didn't have to, so I sure hope he was right. Good luck to you!

Had my TAH due to fibroids, but my doc said he aspirated a cyst on my ovary while he was in there. He said that otherwise they looked good so he left them in place (which I wanted) so I would not go into instant menopause.

I trust my doc implicitly, so I trust him when he says my ovaries looked good enough to stay.

Ovaries And Cyst ??????? Im An Idiot!

I have polycystic ovaries and the ONLY reason I let him leave my right one was for the sheer hormone benefits. I am still having cysts show up.. had one about a month after surgery. I still want to kick myself for leaving the one b/c a cyst is what started my endo problems 5 years ago. But, I didnt want to go into menopause quite yet as I'm only 29. I have enough health issues to deal w/ without having that on top of it. Hopefully they won't rupture like the others but it's all a guessing game in my opinion. good luck!!!

Ovaries And Cyst ??????? Im An Idiot!

I got lucky. Not only did I have fibroids that wouldn't go away, but I also had severe endometriosis. I went through all the options with my dr. and the only option that made any sense was a hysterectomy. I had everything taken out. Ovaries, tubes, uterus with fibroids and the endometriosis. Only thing left is my cervix because there were too many adhesions for the drs. to safely take it out. I went through surgical menopause and never started HRT. It's been 5 months now and while taking no HRT isn't fun, it's not as bad as people make it out to be. Don't get me wrong. The day after my surgery I was sweating and went through all kinds of different feelings, but things do settle down after time.
