Post op restrictions....

I'm curious as to what restrictions were given to everyone for post op? As far as activities and lifting. I know there is no sex for 6 wks. That seems pretty universal. I had the DaVinci TVH. Surprisingly my dr gave me no restrictions. He didn't mention lifting. He forbid sex for the 6 wks. But nothing else. I thought there were lifting restrictions and all that? I feel like I should be doing more, but I get so tired and stuff. I still have back and neck pain. I'm taking pain pills when I go to bed at night, thats all. Just wanted to see what ya'll had to say in comparison Have a great weekend.

Re: Post op restrictions....

I was told no driving and no lifting. I asked specifically about climbing steps as our bedroom is upstairs. He said that was fine.... that I would be going up them slow, but no problem. Said that my body would be telling me what I could do. I was in the hospital 3 full days. Stopped taking pain medicines right after I got home....just didn't need them. I took it easy getting out of the recliner for a good week, but after a bit, that was no problem either. Did find myself taking afternoon naps, for sure. Are you writing your message from your hospital bed?

Re: Post op restrictions....

mine was a partial davinci, fibroids of uterus, with adhesions bladder and intestines.. and endo into the cervix...was able to leave cervix, ovaries and tubes...i was told on my post op sheet no lifting over 10 pds...so nothing more then a gallon of milk...for 2 weeks...then cleared me for everything except sex, and no hot baths....no heavy gym activity either...i did have pain that continued an still have it now which he feels is nerve pain...but every dr views this differently i would say based on the patients surgery..

Re: Post op restrictions....

I had davinci also and was told no driving or anything other than walking for 2 weeks. Then I was told nothing strenuous, no lifting over 10 lbs, no baths, swimming or sex for 8 weeks.
