Spotting after intercourse, 5 months post-TVH/RSO

I am 5 months out, had a TVH RSO on Sept 24, I have been looking through the previous posts but can't find this. After sex last night, I went to the bathroom, wiped and OMG pink...what? I have not had any type of discharge or bleeding after sex at all in the past 3 months and I'm at a loss as to what this could be? I wasn't in any type of pain and that was the one and only time it was pink....later when I wiped everything was back to normal?
Should a person be worried about this? If you have a TVH where on earth can anything be coming from???
I really don't want to go back to the DR at all.....hoping you all can shed some light on this............Please!

Spotting after intercourse, 5 months post-TVH/RSO

Hi stella1!

I had a TAH/BSO and experienced the same thing when I was around seven months post-op. It's quite startling to see blood, or tinges of it, when we expect never to see it from there again.

I made an appointment with my doctor who diagnosed the problem as granulation tissue. It bled easily when it was touched. My doctor initially treated the vaginal cuff (the stitched area where the uterus/cervix were removed) with silver nitrate but because I had so much granulation tissue that didn't go away after the first silver nitrate treatment, he ended up having to do a minor surgical procedure in the exam room at his office to remove it. That's not typical--usually silver nitrate should be enough to take care of the problem if indeed that's the cause of your spotting. For more information, check out this Post-Op article: Vaginal Cuff Granulation – Silver Nitrate – Cauterization.

I know going back to the doctor isn't tops on our list of things to do but it's a good idea to have it checked to determine the cause. Please let us know what you find out, okay?
