Re: TVH-da vinci assisted
I'm scheduled July 16th for a supracervical da Vinci and ovaries are staying in as long as they look OK, and when I asked the NP at my pre-op visit about a binder, she said they don't normally recommend them.
I am obese and have a large stomach and figure there isn't one that would fit me anyway.
I am interested in hearing from other da Vinci patients as to whether they used a binder?
Thanks,

Re: TVH-da vinci assisted
I'm just about 8 weeks post-op from my da vinci and didn't use a binderor any kind of support. I've heard that it's actually better to heal without one. For me, I couldn't stand anything on my belly for several weeks and wore bikini undies and sundresses.

I also had daVinci and did not use a binder. If I felt like I needed a little support I hugged a pillow .

Re: TVH-da vinci assisted
I have use one and it does really help. My doctor gave full clearance and left the decision to me. It helps to keep everything from moving which of course helps with the pain. Good luck.

Re: TVH-da vinci assisted
Ladies-
After my surgery I asked my Dr for a belly binder-(I'm a big girl by the way)the Dr had the nurse get me one from the maternity ward, and they only had medium,so my Dr said to get another and they Velcro together.I don't know how I would have gotten out bed, moved, drove, etc.I asked my Dr and he said in the past 5 years only 4 patients have requested them.Better to have and not need then have to order and wait.I eventually pinned my two together or you can go to the hyster sister store and order one that will fit you better without pins. Now I only wear the belly binder when I drive (for extra protection).
