my boss is too cool!!!!

My boss, for whom I've only been employed for 10mo., sent me flowers and a gift cert for $100.00 to a food catoring place. I could have cried. He is too cool. What a great idea. I was well taken care of my first week post op. Now I had no idea on meal planning. I wasn't ready to take on the chore yet. He baught me more time. What a guy! (his wife was in on this too.)

It sounds like you are blessed with a great boss. That is the kind of employer that we all want to work for (of be ourselves). I have a friend that is also my employee who is having a hysterctomy two weeks before mine and I've always been able to look after her before when she (or her husband) have had health problems. Since I will soon be out of commission myself, I'm going to talk to our mutual friends to be sure that she has food and some help with lawn care and house cleaning (I know she is concerned about the cleaning and lawn care). I want to be sure that she is well taken care of because she is such a treasure, and anything we can do to put her mind at ease will make her recovery better.

You certainly do have a thoughtful boss! Isn't it a great feeling when you receive and unexpected gift?

A few days after I got home from the hospital a beautiful bouquet arrived from my husband's office. I figured my husband's secretary was responsible, so I called to tell her it had arrived and to thank her for sending it. She had nothing to do with it. She told me that my husband's partner had taken care of it.

I spoke with him and thanked him for the thought and told him what a surprise it was and how wonderful it smelled. He told me that he had sent it after I got home because he thought I might need a little surprise to break the monotony! I was totally amazed by his thoughtfulness. He told me that he and his wife had been worried about me and kept me in their prayers...who knew????

Sometimes our blessings sneak up on us!

Have a smooth recovery!

I want your boss. I refuse to dignify that insensitive clod who signs my reviews with the title of supervisor (I felt this way even before surgery). My last day at work, he told me since he had to cover the ER evals while I was out that he was taking the week I got back off as vacation as well as a week at Thanksgiving and a week at Christmas. s(Gotta love the jerk!). As bad as that is, I just hope he isn't messing with my clients too much (I told that secretary that he wasn't to get near my clients). Much as I want to get back to work --- I have considered torturing him by staying out the whole 8 weeks the doctor said I could have.
