Now it's real ---

Finally got my date yesterday: July 31. Glad it's sooner rather than later, but now I've got to kick it in to high gear to make sure I'm ready. They scheduled pre-op for day before (is that strange?) so I guess I'll start my list for the Dr. of what I would have asked a week before - diet prior to surgery, need for enema, how long in hosp, vertical or horizontal, type of anethesia, etc - and then get it over to him in a week or so. I'm NOT waiting until the day before to get these answers! I'm sure it will all work out - I really like my dr. and he did a D&C in April that was scheduled similarly and went fine. Wish me luck! Can you think of any last minute questions I'm forgetting?

My surgery is set for 7/18/02 and my pre-op is also the day before on the 17th.

I have an appt. at the hospital and then following that I have a appt. with my gyno doc and I am to ask him questions then.

I had my pre op the day before surgery. I had not the doctor ever before and I found that made me very nervous. If I had to do it again I would meet the dr well in advance. But maybe you already know the guy, than it is probably just as well. Anyway, I was lucky, I am 5 weeks post op and my recovery has been very easy, I wish the same for you.
