7 weeks post op, how are you doing?

Just wondering how all you girls at the 7 week mark are doing? I've been for my 6 weeks check up and doing great. Go back again in 4 weeks. My recovery has been pretty uneventful. Just the usual pulls and tugs in the beginning due to "swelly belly". I've had no bleeding to speak of since TAH after leaving the hospital. Didn't have the dreaded gas pains for which I'm very thankful. I had internal stitches, so no staples or glue on abdominal incision. That healed great. Swelly belly is just about gone. Just gets slightly swollen when I do too much. Looking forward to the day that it's gone forever but DR said it will take about 3 months. I still have numbness above my incision and was wondering when and if that ever really goes away. Vagianl cuff is healing well DR said, but I still feel those tugging and pulling sensations periodically during the day. Just figure that's part of the healing process. Got the go ahead for sex at 4 weeks and that gets better with time. Can tell things aren't quite normal yet, but hopefully soon it will be. Any of you girls at this point in your recovery, just curious as to how you are doing. Hope all of you are doing well.

7 weeks post op, how are you doing?

Hey, I am doing great also. Doctor approved me for my excercise classes last week, but still had some internal stitches that needed to heal. Was sore in my muscles from spin class, and ball class, and of course got the swollen belly. I get that every night, but at least it doesn't hurt! And NO MIGRAINES!! That is the best thing!

I do have what I call 'phantom ovary' pains in my lower left side. They haven't gone away yet, anyone have those?

Thanks for checking up on all of us! Hope everyone is doing great!

7 weeks post op, how are you doing?

Hi Princess RJ,
I'm Malin from Holland and new here. Good to hear you're doing fine! My story is about the same as yours: doing (very) well generally. I too have numbness above my incision but it doesn't bother me much.
Today I went to my gyn for checkup and he merely looked at the wound, and said it was healing OK (so I noticed myself). He didn't mention the vaginal cuff at all, didn't examine it either and now I'm wondering if it is OK to have sex? I think I'll give it a try one of these days (despite the tugging now and then). I can do as much as I can manage, dr says, so I'm going to step up my activities a bit. I can't think about getting back to work right now, though.
My ovaries have kicked in pretty soon after surgery and I was very much aware of the onset of my 'period'. It gave me a hard time, I was very depressed and sad for about three days. I hope next time it will be less stressful. Generally I feel very relieved and I have the feeling I can start a much better life now.
Lots of love to you and all our sisters,
Malin
