I can not tell if I'm better or far worse!
Finally had my post op exam and thankfully passed. I'm to return next week. The Doctor started me on the lowest does of one of the newest HRTs for women who have had a total hysterectomy. I'm also 50 and long ago finished the menopause deal.
At first, before I got an after the surgery infection, my hopes were high. For a few years prior, my body seemed to slowly start weakening. I lost energy, started the stiff joints/Herman Munster routine after five pm. and contributed less and less to the family. (Meaning I was not active, missed outings, stopped many of my normal chores) So apparently, I put too much hope in having this hysterectomy, ending the back pain, and somehow regaining estrogen induced youth. Instead, I hate to open my eyes in the am and hate to close them at night because my dreams are not fun either. All this has left a couch potato more sedentary than ever! Do I need inspiration to push my physical being, motivate my mind, or medical advice. I would rather have your advice for now. Lonely in Arkansas, Grace50

I am only 39 but feel like I could be in my 80's. I have had 7 surgerys in the last 4 1/2 years and just can't seem to get ahead. I am like you awake all nite and then sleep most of the day time. My hubby works 6 days a week and is averaging 12-14 hours away from home. His boss said maybe by june that will end. I hope so. Thanks for letting me vent. I guess it's just that time of nite. I just feel like that it will get better. By reading other posts it does seam that things will get better in later weeks.

Dear Grace, You have been through so much in such a short time, please allow yourself the time to recover from the shock of the hysterectomy and then the shock of the infection. Your physcial and your emotional beings are very much wrapped up inside themselves. You can't have problems with one, without the other becoming involved. Give your HRT a few days to kick in and then I believe you will start to feel better. My thoughts are with you and I hope to hear from you soon. I am sending you a "smile" : ) Jane
