I Feel Like A Virgin

I will be 8 weeks post op on Friday. Last Wednesday my doctor said my vaginal wall was strong and healed and I could start "using it" again, lol. Hubby and I tried early the next morning but we were both so nervous and I think I was swollen from the internal exam.

Last night we decided to try again. I had a lot of vaginal repairs done due to damage from prolapses and things are quite tight down there compared to before. My poor H wanted to give up after a couple of attempts (sorry if TMI) but I insisted we try anyway. (poor guy was scared of hurting me) We used a lot of lubricant and I tried being on top like my doctor suggested but that was really painful for me. Asking DH to be gentle was enough it turns out.

Anyway, we were finally successful although I had to have him pull out early because it was starting to become irritated. I had an amazing orgasm though!

I asked DH how it was and he said "awkward" like it was the first time ever. Still we had a somewhat successful first time and I think we are both relieved to have the first time behind us, lol.

Does anyone who has had vaginal repairs know if it gets easier over time?

I didn't have any of the repairs you did - just the vaginal cuff. Had a bit of discomfort at first, but it's better now. Dr. told me to expect it. I've read posts by others that said the same.

Sex is so much better for us now without the pain and constant bleeding. Who would have thought.

I did not have any repairs. We were able to give it a go this weekend. It was a little awkward just because we were being careful and were a little nervous. But all was well and I'm sure things will be even better next time. It's good to know that my body is okay after all.

That is good to hear, Beth. I guess not many here have the problem I have with needing to start all over again in this area. It is kind of exciting and scary at the same time. I just wish there was an easy way to get past the tenderness.

My friend had lots of vaginal stitches, and yes, she said it does get easier with time and practice. She agreed it was a lot like being a virgin again.

Oh thank you! I was beginning to feel a bit like a freak, LOL. My poor DH is having a hard time with this.

My doc suggested waiting till after 8th week. Every day my feelings are flipping between total indifference and nervousness and impatience... hmmmm, feels like I am a teenager again --- at least emotionally ---- about my "first time" post-op!

Oh my goodness! Those of you worried that sex won't feel the same after a hyster let me tell you last night was AMAZING! It was BETTER than before and no pain once we found a position that works for me. WOW!!!!!
