Has anyone had any luck with cranberry capsules for keeping all infections out of the way?

I am drinking cranberry juice but it has like 30g sugar even though it says no sugar added!

Re: cranberry capsules anyone?

I take cranberry capsules, can't tell you for sure if they keep the infections away or not.

If you want the No Sugar variety look for the organic cranberry juice. It has a tang but no sugar.

Re: cranberry capsules anyone?

I use the cranberry capsules myself because unsweetened cranberry juice is really really tart. Those cranberry juice cocktails contain very little actual cranberry juice. They're mostly sugar and water. Even the ones that have "no added sugar" are still very low in actual cranberry juice. check the ingredients. You'll probably see that white grape or apple juice is the first ingredient.

You're better off with the capsules because they are 100% cranberry extract.

Re: cranberry capsules anyone?

Thanks ladies for sharing your wisdom with me.

And how many capsules do you take each day? With or between meals?

I usually take my vitamins after each meal. I hope it is ok to add this extract.

For the ones that I take they suggest 2 to 3 a day. So I take them with meals

Re: cranberry capsules anyone?

I tend to have kidney stones and infections, so I have been taking cranberry extract capsules for years. I take two in the monring and 2 in the evening. They do seem to work for me. You can also find "light" cranberry juice - it has about 1/3 less sugar, which I have to watch being diabetic. I also dilute it with water - equal parts of water and juice. It helps cut the tartness, and the sugar shock.

Re: cranberry capsules anyone?

I take the cranberry capsules 3 times a day, they have worked for me so far. I am prone to kidney and bladder infections due to a kidney disease I was born with. I tried the juice for many years but it didnt seem to work for me, and the taste was just awful. For the last two years I have been taking the capsules and I only had one bladder infection and that had happened only a few weeks after starting the capsules. I hope you decide to give them a try, I think that you will like them as an alternative rather than trying to drink the juice because it does contain so many other things that don't help your system out.
