Day 15 after hysterectomy: Worried Rambling....

Day 15 post op TLH and feeling great other than tenderness where I'm badly bruised. Only set back I've had besides constipation (which I had issues with prior) is my naval incision busted open around day 7...no big deal. Dr slapped a steri strip on it and sent me on my way. Fast forward to this morning... Phone rings, its my dr asking about my incision and how its doing. I really didn't think anything of it but he seemed kinda off when he asked if I could come in tomorrow morning so he could take a look at it. I found that strange since I'm having no symptoms, it wasn't infected when I went in last week and he said he'd see me at post op appt which was supposed to be at 6 weeks. (Sorry if I'm rambling) Anywho, during my surgery they found a mass on my colon... I'm wondering if pathology came back and that's why he wants to see me. Colon cancer runs in my family. I'm hoping that its nothing and he genuinely wants to check on my incision but the little voice inside says that its so much more than that UGH!!!!

I would be concerned as well. Chances are it's nothing. What I try to do is not worry until someone tells me I should worry. But I know it's hard not to.

Good luck. Keep as calm as you can until you know more. I understand your worries though.

UPDATE: I was worried for nothing! Pathology came back and it seems as though everything was just fine. Outside of some fibroids that I wasn't aware of and a few cysts, I was panicking for nothing. The colon tests came back ok....not remarkable by any means. I will have to have a colonoscopy to learn more but so far no malignancy
