9 days post hysterectomy: having weird abdominal pain

Hi all, i am post op 9 days. I have been really surprised at how I have been able to keep the pain in control. Today i seem to have a strange lower abdo pain almost like gas and almost like cramps. I am not sure if this is normal. It feels like there is pain on the left and right side but nothing in the middle. I picture this empty space where my uterus was. Maybe I am just over thinking things. I have been having crazy dreams and hard time sleeping at night but can sleep all day. Any one else just feeling off?? Gabbie

I started having weird pain on the left side on post op day 6. I called my Doc and after she examined me I had a CT done and labs drawn. The CT shows a small cyst growing on my left ovary again. Still waiting on labs to come back. I would call your doc if I were you.

I'm a month out and still get weird ghost pains. Sometimes I feel like my fibroid is still there. It comes and goes. I will bring it up at my six week appt. I called and talked to my doctors nurse quite a few times. So if you feel something isn't right, give your team a call.

Today is my post op day 7 and I have a burning and stabbing pain on the left side of my incision. I woke up the other night coughing really bad and that's about when it started. I was thinking maybe I pulled a muscle, I'm not sure what else it could be? Does this sound like something I should be concerned about?

It can be quite normal for you to have all sorts of strange pains in the beginning of recovery....first its the internal stitches stretching then its them dissolving....
And just your body healing.
But always have an open dialogue with your doctor to be sure you are healing correctly

I am in so much pain in that one area, the left side of my incision. I just took a picture of it with my cell phone so I could see it close up and it's really dark red around the incision. The rest of it looks pretty much closed up but about an inch starting at the left side. Now I'm terrified that it's an infection! I'm taking Dilaudid every 3 hours and I'm still awake at 3am. Im going to call the doctor first thing in the morning :-(

Feel better and let us know how it goes.

I was told to call the doctor with any "new" pain. S/he may want to examine you to be sure everything is okay.
