Post-op Today??

Today is my post-op and boy do I have questions for dr. Why do I have a pulling pain from my bellybutton down? What's the deal with the cramps my uterus is gone? Why when I go potty do I go a little then stop and have to push then go lots more, and it hurts (I don't think its a bladder infection I'm and old pro at those and this is totally different)? Where is my pathology report I know we don't live in a huge city but give me a brake I should have some info by now! Why am I still not sleeping well? Weird discharge stuff how long and what is it? Hubby wants to know when we can have sex, as in how much longer? I'll tell hubby at least 4 more weeks’ regardless of what dr say's because I feel Yucky (I’m sure he will survive on his own). Do I get copies of my pictures? He showed them to hubby after the operation, (he said they were gross) I want to see exactly what he did and what he took out. What is in there now, and is anything going to be smaller at least length wise? Can hubby hit bottom now that my cervix and uterus is gone? I sure don't need things bigger that would suck! Why have I lost at least 8 pounds? I went to the bank yesterday and everyone was in shock. I'm not complaining I haven’t been this thin since before I had my twins, but is it normal? I own a day care and have to work after only 2 weeks with an assistant is this O.K., and how many hours should I have her here? Exactly how much can I lift and how many times? I know I over did it, have I done any permanent damage? Will resting the next 3 week's fix anything I’ve messed up? Why isn’t Tylenol enough to take the pain away? I know I'm rambling but I seem to do that lately, and is that normal? I almost feel sorry for dr, but he is getting on my nerves he is sort of laid back and I want answers. I will make a copy of this so I remember to ask this stuff when I get to his office. One more thing I seem to be getting hot flash’s this is new and I still have my ovaries (although I wanted him to take the left one out but he saved it WHY I still have the right one)?

Post-op Today??

Well my sister I can answer some of your questions:
You are having bladder spasms when you urinate and it stops, starts and then hurts. Your bladder is trying to get used to it new location since the uterus is gone. It was also moved and repositioned during the surgery so its sore. Ask your doctor for a copy of your pathology report when you go to see him. He should be able to give it to you.
Read some of the questions asked on this site because they are very similiar to the questions you have asked, you will get your answers. Stay calm and encouraged and you will be fine!! Take Care!

Post-op Today??

I too have a million questions for my doc, all he told me was the path came back good, I didn't even know they took pictures, but think that would be interesting to see what caused me so much misery. My doc too, is very laid back and doesn't really volunteer any info, he was surprised when I went for pre-op and told him I was unable to walk long distances or excercise......you would think they would have a clue.
I hope you get lotsa answers!!!!!

Post-op?? went great

Post-op went great today he answered every one of my questions with honest straight forward info. My pathology report is clear I had a large fibroid tumor but no signs of cancer. I have not done any damage by doing too much to soon. Doctor was very specific about no sex for 6 week's and that would be really the only way I could cause serious problems because of healing. I got to see my pictures Yuck! and boy am glad that stuff is out. Dr was shocked that I was already working or that I had the desire to do so. I let him know I don't want to I have to, and will be getting an assistant for extra help. He felt that the more you do the faster you heal and said I am doing great and healing very fast. Dr said I won’t cause any damage by working but I will be more tired. He was happy to see how active I have been and really encouraged it. The pain, discharge, lack of sleep, yucky feeling, and bladder problems are normal and just part of the healing process. Dr said to take my pain med and to use my assistant for the next few weeks and I should feel better everyday. I am so relieved that I already feel lots better. I am very glad I had this done dr said I should feel great in another 6 weeks and I can't wait.
