what is granulation?? 2 week post-op

I just found this site last night and have enjoyed reading all the posts---certainly have learned alot.
Have had 2 c-sections before surgery so knew what to expect somewhat.
Had abdominal hyster. on 3-15, staples --all 27 of them--removed on 3-22, go back for 3 week checkup on 4-6.
I have had no problems at all and was up walking the halls of hospital by 11 night of surgery. no pain meds by thurs morning and none taken at home either. I go to walmart--where i work--almost every day if for anything to walk. I also walk around my little town daily also. Feel ready to go back to work but know i cant because of lifting.

Ok now to question---What is granulation and how do you get it and how do you keep from getting it---is this possible?? LOL Anyway is something i have never heard of and just wanting more info.

Thanks for listening --craftystaci

Hi craftystaci
Welcome to Hystersisters! I'm glad you have joined us and are finding information you need. It sounds like you are having an amazing recovery. I'm relieved to hear that you understand the dangers with lifting too soon. Sometimes it's hardest for those who feel so good so soon not to over do. I hope everything continues to go well for you.
Granulation is scar tissue that can form over the wound and actually prevents true healing from what I understand. It often has tiny blood vessels that will easily bleed if disturbed. There is an article in the post op articles that explains it and how it is treated. Vaginal Cuff Granulation
