Post-op scar & "pouch"

Hi,

I had a myomectomy just over 5 months ago to remove 7 fibroids. The biggest was 10 cm and was outside the uterus on a stalk. I also suffered a hematoma 2 weeks after surgery and had to be opened, cleaned out and stitched back up again. I recovered well and the scar is great considering it was done twice but this raised pouch above the scar is getting me down. I have always had a really flat stomach, even with my fibroids, amazingly they didn't stick out. I have been doing abdominal exercises and having massages but it's still there sticking out through my underwear. From the front it looks normal but from the side it looks weird and it's strange to feel a hard ridge down there too. Also, it's much flatter in the morning and more noticible at night. I just wanted to hear some other women's experiences and how it affects them as I don't really have anyone to talk to who has gone through a similar thing. I am only 33. It's not just about vanity as it affects your self confidence. I have a group beach holiday coming up in a few months and am concerned about wearing a bikini. Something that has previously never bothered me before. Will this pouch go with time or is it here to stay? I still check it every morning and evening, the whole experience is never far from my mind even though it's close to 6 months gone. I didn't suffer any fibroid symptoms apart from overactive bladder and this hasn't actually improved so some days I feel very depressed about the whole thing. It would just be nice to hear someone else's story. I also feel anxious about my organs and if they are sticking together since this can happen after surgery. Sorry for the down beat post. I know I should be happy everything went well but it's hard to see yourself look and feel different. Thanks
