Tummy tuck anyone???????

Oh I have to stop reading this thread. LOL It's making me SO regret not getting this done when I had my hyst. I'm sure my dr would have gone for it because I've had 2 c-sections anyways and I'M the one that pushed so hard having the vaginal hyst.

I say go for it! I am beginning to wish I had!

Anyone have any ideas on how long I should wait after the vag hyst I had recently before even thinking about having a tummy tuck? I think my stretched out skin on my stomach is beyond repair from having such LARGE pregnant tummies from too much fluids. NO, I KNOW it's beyond repair except probably a tummy tuck.

WHY oh why didn't I take more time and study up on hysterectomies and find this site before having my surgery! LOL

Good luck gals! I'll be jealous of you and your small tummies!

tummy tuck

My surgery is scheduled for wed.the 25th next week. I asked about the tummy tuck. This is the second time they are going in and finally removing anything left of the right ovary and the tumors that have grown on it. So this will leave nothing of the female machine left in me. My first surgery was last Aug.2000.I hate my scare from the pubic bone up to my belly button. When I requested a consult for plastic surgery for the scar and tummy tuck I was told ins. of course wouldn't pay and it would be at least 10 thousand. I didn't have it at this time. But was told that in the future it is very easy and safe to do.
Good Luck

Tummy tuck anyone???????

Aw man... that's pretty steep! We wouldn't have had that either. But I've seen here on this board where others are getting them much cheaper- like $3-5,000 and when you consider you are already in the hospital so you don't have that added expense it sounds like it is worth it.

Ah, if I could only go back in time.

Shelly you have made me chuckle!!!

Hi Shelly
I am the one who started this thread. It is 7:00 a.m. here in Ohio and I was having a little trouble getting my morning started.(should be awake I just finished my daughter's paper route, she has an injured foot) anyways I just read your threads and you have absolutely made me chuckle!!!! Maybe I should get my own paper route or have about 100 garage sales so I can pay for this little treat. I have five children, one was a c-sec. but the scar is barely visible now. It sounds like this scar will be a doozie. Will I then need an addition surgery to minimize the scar (tee-hee) This could really start something!!! Too bad I am not having some type of facial surgery then I could discuss a little eye-lift (really my first choice) Maybe I could start at the bottom and work my way up (ha ha) Have I turned 40 and now beginning my mid life crisis???? Sending lots of love to all you ladies and much thanks for all your responses!!! Jacqui

Tummy tuck anyone???????

Jacqui, I am so glad you started this thread! I had been wondering the same things as you when I found this so I have really been enjoying reading (and chuckling) too! When is your surgery scheduled? Have you had a consult with a plastic surgeon? Let us know how things go and what you decide! Sue

might have a surgeon

Hi Sue,
I have put my surgery off until December because of my husbands vacation time. I will be having a tah and a rectocele as well as a bladder repair. When I asked my dr. about the tuck she gave me the name of a plastic surgeon who I will call Mon. I'm wondering how much surgeon's fees vary in our area. I wouldn't be inclines to shop at say "tummy tucks for less" or 1-800 tummy tuck but if there is a lot of difference maybe I should shop around a little. My husband knows I have mentioned it but I don't think he gets how serious I really am. (if he reads these threads he'd get the gest ha ha) I will keep you posted. lots of love Jacqui

Tummy tuck anyone???????

Hi Jacqui! Sorry to hear that your surgery was postponed but you have to do it when the time is right, right??? I hope your December date won't keep you from celebrating the winter holidays!
When I mentioned my interest in a tummy tuck, my OB/GYN was very receptive and immediately gave me the name of a plastic surgeon in our area. After talking with several people, I have found that this PS is considered the best in the area so I am willing to pay a few extra bucks for him. (emphasis on FEW!) His office has worked out a payment plan so I will be able to stretch out the cost.
My DH was also very receptive and positive about my desire to have the TT...so, I'm taking the plunge! Hopefully I'll feel this positive about it AFTER the surgery!
All the best to you! Sue
