swelling abdominal

I'm into my 5th week of post op. Is it normal to still have abdominal swelling and how long does it last?

I am 5th week also, and I still get abdominal swelling and pain. I am guessing it is normal. I had the abdominal "option" for the surgery.

From what I've read here it's normal. I have enormous swelly belly at times. Some women deal with it for quite a while after surgery.

im going to the doctor this evening to find out. I'll let you all know. I might have torn something too. I almost fell and I felt a burning sensation near my incision.

I'm 5 weeks today and my stomach still swells and feels like it's sunburned.

Mine does too, I just chalk that up from the adhesive. I just arrived at dr office I'll keep everyone informed

The dr said everything looked fine with the incision. there will be swelling, but the tenderness could be the bowels. Funny, since the surgery i'm not constipated anymore (lol)

I had TAH. Had
DocDoc appt. Yesterday 9 days after for suture check have swelling right above . Was hoping it was not going to stay this way.H e told me it is still swollen & to take it easy. I didn't listen went x mass shopping & to ice rink & had bright red blood & that area is alot bigger even this am still swollen compared to what it has been.

Be careful!!!!!! Listen to your doctor!!!!! I know your bored, but don't over do it. You will pay for it. I know from experience��. OUCH!!!! My swelling has gone down. I actually went on a 1.4 mile walk with my yorkie.she really enjoyed it!! You will have good days and bad days.
