I've made my decision...

I was given the choice by my surgeon: hysterectomy or abdominal myomectomy. Because there is a good chance for fibroids to return, I will choose the hyst. Route is unknown until I see my doc again, but because I haven't had children she believes that will leave out TVH.

I guess I just wanted to actually put my decision out there...I'm a little nervous but mostly excited to have my life back!

I know this is a tough decision. I am sure you and your doctor discussed this and this is the best decision. It does not make it any easier to face.

Being nervous, emotional, and having some freakouts are very normal. These emotions can even intensify as surgery approaches.

We are here for you, and will be by your side throughout this process. Get on and post your questions, concerns, fears, emotions, etc. It really does help.

My doctor has also said that TAH is what I need due to not ever having children. I trust that he knows what's best. Mine is due to endo and also don't want to leave anything in there it could grow back on. Glad you made your decision and hope you are feeling some relief now that it's made.

You are not alone and will not be alone... When my doctor told me I needed a hysterectomy, I wasn't ready to say lets do it. Even though i knew it was my only option other than to not do anything, I just couldn't say yes right away. The next day I said yes. I'm nervous and anxiously awaiting the phone call saying the surgery is preauthorized. I've had times when I cry. Other days I'm glad that my uterus will be gone. Many hugs to you and best wishes!
