General AND Epidural??

Ok Ladies, my surgery is tomorrow.

My anesthesiologist just called. We talked about the nausea after surgery. He has suggested to me that we do the general and an epidural for pain management to keep from using Morphine or Demerol.

He said they will keep the epidural running until Friday morning, then 2 hours after they take it out, I will be able to walk.

What do all of you think??????? I will be leaving at 5:30 AM, so I won't have much time to read replies in the morning, so if you have ANY suggestions tonight... PLEASE help!!!

General AND Epidural??

Hi Ranae!
The only thing I didn't like about the epidural is the numb feeling in my legs! Other wise it was ok!@ I had one for a different procedure yrs ago. It works well to control pain-Just didn't care for the after effects of the numb/ itchies as the feeling came back!
I will be praying for you and thinking of you! There is also Toredol. I can't take hardly anything either so I requested that, and the dr said ok! It is quite mild as far as side effects go and great for pain!
Lots of love!

PS_Remember----You are a strong woman and you can do this! No worries! Be happy! We'll have a celebration when you return from the castle! Will light a candle for you!
