Sex drive and hair question

Morning ladies

I am 8 weeks post op and my uterus and overies were removed. I'm on Estradot patches for the last 2 weeks and it works well. The hot flashes are much less.

Question 1: why is my sex drive still ZERO. I show no signs of affection towards hubby and don't even feel guilty. Its like everything is just dead. Is it normal?

Question 2: My hair falls out, but not a lot though and after washing my hair I suddenly have these terrible knots in my hair. Is this still due to the hysterectomy?

Thank you all and have a blessed day!!

Re: Sex drive and hair question

Hi there, i'll tackle the hair question :-)

The shock of surgery can cause a large shedding of hair, usually around 2-3 months after the operation. Look up Telogen Effluvium on Google. Good news is, it does stop but can take a while.

Re: Sex drive and hair question

hello,
I'm no expert but 2 weeks doesn't seem long to make a hormone adjustment so re your sex drive, give it some time - hope it all sorts itself out, but still early days since your op.
Re your hair... I lost lots of hair after my op, something to do with the shock of the anaesthetic I was told.. anyway I was a bit upset about it but it did all grow back in the end and my hair is all back to normal!
Look after yourself.

Re: Sex drive and hair question

Also 8 wks post op and surprised my sex drive also not as it was. Strange.
I was surprised that it woke up the other day just by being close to my DH.
Also have had a different time not experiencing the uterine orgasms, but hoping to find a groove soon...
Had LAVH for prolapse but now my bowel is bulging quite a bit in vagina.
Also have had more hair loss but didn't give it too much thought..

How are you otherwise?

Re: Sex drive and hair question

Hi sisters
How you all doing, been searching the site to night looking for conversations on sex drive , and glad I've found this. I had a TAH 5 weeks this Friday and prior to that I had an awful time with intercourse and low sex drive due to pain from server Endo problems hence my TAH. I'm worring if my sex drive will ever come back, DH is very frustrated, but understanding but I really feel for him, what sort of wife am I if we cant have a normal sex life, I know he wouldn't stray, but I couldn't blame him if he did (just cut it off and feed it to him if he did lol), but seriously I just want to feel like normal woman again I'm on HRT patches for the past 4 weeks and see my DR on the 27th, guess I just have to go with the flo and trust it will all come back. Just needed to off load to friends that understand.

Wirth regards to hair, mines not falling out, but its like straw and my skin is so dry, going through bottles of lotion

Take care x
