Swelly belly how long did yours last?

I know this subject is beat to death but, I'm almost 6 months out LAVH. Didn't have any swelly until about a month ago the last several days have been really bad. Towards early afternoon it's gets so uncomfortable and rises up under my breast. I can't sit up right or button my big pants. Sometimes it feels hard then other it's really just flabby. What makes it worse is everyone just thinks I'm nuts and chalks it up to gaining weight it does look like it but the funny thing is I haven't been eating but the scale keeps going up gained 6 lbs in 2 weeks. I measure my waist and it varies up to 2 inches every time. Have an dr appoint next Thursday. Is there a point where I should worried? How long did everyone have their unwelcomed friend?

Just wondering if you kept your ovaries or not. I don't know how long swells belly lasts as I'm only 3 weeks post op. I have lost weight but my belly is bigger so I know it is swollen not weight. But wondering if you might get things checked out if you kept your ovaries as you said you haven't been eating any more. Hope all is well and it is just swelling.

Unlikely that swelly belly would start at 5 months out.from surgery so long ago.
Yes, could be hormones. There is also "slow transit" issues with bowels. Sometimes they move slower for whatever reason. The bloating is exactly as you described. Are your bowels moving regularly? Low thyroid can also predispose to slow bowels and bloating. Usually with low thyroid-you also have fatigue, dry skin. Mental fog. Let us know what doc says!!

Swelly belly?
I am only a week out. Is this the bloated, gassy, painful feeling I am getting? I feel bloated and it is painful until I go to the bathroom. There is sharp pain as I feel the gas in my pelvis. Also I can't seem to easily pass the gas or stool. Question, is this normal? How long does it last?

Thanks for the replies, that is spot on culkin39180. I've had bowel issues and I have to have help from MOM or suppositories most days to go or I'll go for days without doing so. I'm achey tired all the time and can't seem to focus at work. I have one ovary but I have believe it shut down cause of few other ongoing issues. I'll have to mention this at my dr appointment next weeks. Thanks!!
