Starting to get nervous

im really starting to get worried if im making the right decision, this will be my 4th abdominal surgery in 5 years. i have a history of large ovarian cyst was the size of a soccer ball that took my right ovary and tube.botched c-section, and revison. i also worry because im so young ( 27) that i might regret it later. but everyone around me is telling me it is because of all pain im having. and also the mass that my doctor isnt sure what it is. i guess its normal to worry, and of course my mister is as supportive as he can be. but i was sure i wouldnt be this torn beause ive been through it before, but thats not the case.

Re: Starting to get nervous

Hi ance613 to HysterSisters -

Your fears, nerves, and emotions are normal - having a hysterectomy is a difficult decision. But, you may want to get a second opinion on your situation. At 27, you are young to be having this surgery. Obviously the mass is a concern, and that may dictate your surgery.

I see from your survey that you have endo or andeno. From this site, I have learned that a hysterectomy is not a cure for endo. You need a specialist to remove the disease. Here is an article for you to read:
Endometriosis | Hysterectomy the Answer?

I know this is so overwhelming. We are here to help and support you. You need to make the decision that is right for you.

Re: Starting to get nervous

It's normal to feel nervous because this is a big surgery. I feel the same way because I am 36 with no children and have a history of endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain. Good luck with your surgery.

Okay. It is good to have that second opinion.

This surgery can be a balancing act. I don't think any of us wanted this surgery, but it was the best option we had given our condition.

Make the decision that is right for you. We will support it.
