Re: 6 weeks post-op, pain, fatigue, weight loss

Thanks for all your replies:

I strongly feel that I went back to work too early as well. The specialist said (after and internal and external exam) that I am all healed and that he has no reason to keep me off work further. He also said that if I have any other pain issues I should see my family Dr. I felt like I was dumped!!

appolonia: My work schedule is very short. I only work 1 hour per weekday at an elementary school. I monitor the children during their lunch hour. I do move slower than usual and so far my boss has been excellent about it. For me the big problem is that I don't feel like I have overdone it until it's too late. Trying hard to find that "balance" and failing poorly!! Any thoughts on working on this balance thing??

Re: 6 weeks post-op, pain, fatigue, weight loss

I guess then I would either go back to family doctor or see a different specialist and see what you can do about it. If you still end up

Well, I guess to try to find the balance, I would suggest (if it's okay) that you could try to go by your past experience. If standing up and walkng around for 10 minutes (or whatever it is) wore you out the day before, then only allow yourself 5 minutes the next day, and so on. Just go out of your way to really be careful to cut back and you'll eventually find more balance. Not easy, I know.

Re: 6 weeks post-op, pain, fatigue, weight loss

Okay I decided to s-l-o-w down and see how things go. I layed low on the weekend (did some stuff at home and didn't go out) which did help somewhat. So today I paid closer attention to my pain. It didn't take me long to see (and feel) when the pain starts. What I had planned for today I did do (laundry with a rest , work and a small grocery shop.....only 1 bag) but know that it was too much. I'll rest for the afternoon and evening. Tomorrow I do less and see what happens. Thanks for all your support ladies! You are a blessing!!!
