Getting worried

Hi, all. I'm scheduled for my d&c, biopsy and ablation on the 11th. I had a heavy flow for about a month which had finally gone away. Now I'm spotting again. It has me afraid that I'll wake up w/o a uterus. More than that, I'm afraid I'll wake up in need of chemo.

I realize there is no use being frightened by something that hasn't happened and may not happen, but I had been encouraged by the stopping of flow, even if it was temporary.

As perhaps is common for a middle aged oldest daughter, I'm "in charge" of my mom's finances and haven't even told her I'm going in for the ablation, since its only outpatient. If I have something more, the stuff will hit the fan in my family, since I won't be able to care for her for quite a while.

On the other hand, the ablation could be a breeze, and all could be well!

Hi Emeraldcitea,

Best wishes with your procedures on July 11th.

You mentioned a fibroid in a prior post. I too had fibroids and they are not fun!! You hang in there. It will all work out. Don't worry.

Emeraldcitea

OF COURSE you would feel worried with all of that hanging over your head. Often, the best thing to dispel fear is good information and knowledge. You are working on that and are to be commended. It also helps to have a doctor you trust, who can be compassionate and helpful. Also, I wonder if there is one family member you could take into confidence? It may be time for someone else to step up to the plate and carry a little of the family load for you, at least briefly. Would that be possible? In my family we make decisions based on: Who has the greatest need? This time it might be you.
Holding your need in the Light.
