A Funny Question about Estrogen Patches

This might seem a strange question but....

How DO you get those marks from your estrogen patches off your belly?????

It might sound dumb but it drives me nuts. I can't scrub there yet because of incisions nearby. Any ideas???

Thanks!

Ali

Re: A Funny Question about Estrogen Patches

Hi (((Ali))) They make special adhesive removal pads (they come in a box, individually foil wrapped, just like alcohol wipes do) that do a great job for this. You can find them in a medical/hospital supply store or at some pharmacies.

Alternatively, I use Goo Gone on a cotton ball, followed by an alcohol wipe to get the Goo Gone off. I do have to rub a bit but not too much. Don't get it near your incision, though.

That's one of the reasons I initially switched to wearing my patches on my backside - I could scrub there. However, you get about 20% higher absorption on the rear versus the front, so if your current patch dosage is working perfectly for you I wouldn't switch from front to back now.

I hope this helps.

Re: A Funny Question about Estrogen Patches

Thank you so much!!!!!

I was feeling sheepish about posting such a 'dumb' question but I'm glad to know I am not the only one!

My husband also suggested Goo Gone but NOT UNTIL THE INCISIONS HEAL! I'll check in to those adhesive removal pads for now.

I really appreciate your reply.

Hugs,
Ali
