hot flashes....ughhhh

I am 19 days post op Davinci total hysterectomy. The hot flashes seem to be getting more and more frequent and my DD just laughs at me! Any ideas on what to do until I see Dr to discuss HRT pros/cons? I had a small stroke (unbeknowst to me) 10 yrs ago at 35 yrs old, so I hesitate to go on hormones, but the hot flashes, headaches, insomnia and night sweats have already started.

I've always been hot natured, but nothing like this!

Kindred spirits .... my DH laughed as well... they hit me with a vengence within 12 hrs of my surgery. I had mine back in May and we are still working on getting me balanced. I am all for the HRT if it makes you feel normal. I didnt sleep for weeks as I had to wait 2 months after my op before I could start HRT. Dont want to go through that again !

Have a chat with your doc and if it is at all possible I would go for it.

If your symptoms are that bothersome (and I know they can be life changing) don't wait til your appointment. Call your Dr's office and tell them what you just told us. You're dr will probably call you back for they can set up an appointment sooner for you. Good luck.
