Still a lot of discomfort 12 days post hysterectomy

Spent 15 hrs of severe pain with nausea and Vomiting after surgery due to anesthesia and morphine, which felt like I was being sliced with a razor. Since mid-day two only occasional Morin but just so darn uncomfortable. :-(
Did too much on day 10 and now realize must take it slower which is real hard for a usually non-stop person. How long does this discomfort/pain lingure?

Discomfort can last for several weeks because there is a lot of healing going on - inside and out. Listen to your body, it will definitely tell you when you have overdone it (the key is try not to). Your pain/discomfort should be a little better each day. New or severe pain should be reported to your doctor. I wore my belly binder for 10 weeks after my surgery because at night I would be achy and it gave me that little bit of support I needed. Get some rest and try to slow down. It isn't easy for us SuperWomen !

Thanks. I am uncertain if I should be concerned because I've been running on and off fevers and right side of my incision is very red. (but no puss or anything). Guess I'll just have to see how weekend goes.
