Re: Surgery 28 Jul, hello from Australia

Hi, my surgery is on July 28th as well. After reading these blogs I am getting nervous where I was not before.. I was just happy to get this over with finally..I have had some serious problems with bleeding and fibroids and D&C's for years.. But now after reading that I may be in the hospital for 5 days (EKK) and I am not one who likes to be tied down, or read or knit I am starting to get a little worried about how I am going to fare being tied to a hospital bed.

Anyway I wish everyone well on their adventures and hope to hear only good things!

Re: Surgery 28 Jul, hello from Australia

Hi there, I'll also be in for an improvement on the 28th. I've been feeling alone, however I don't anymore. I'll be having everything out, hopefully lapro, but I've had several surgeries in the past so that may change. I don't need to have my ovaries out, but everyone thinks that I should because they don't want to open me up again in the future. They've said that I can only stay 23 hours afterwards, so I'm hoping that will be long enough.
I am planning to watch movies on net flicks, color some images, and read magazines while I rest. I'm ready - I hadn't realized how much Advil I've been taking until they said I had to stop before surgery. I'm surprised at how much pain I'm feeling without it.

Re: Surgery 28 Jul, hello from Australia

Hi,

i am not even sure if I am having my ovaries removed..I do know my dr put on the insurance papers that i need a total hysterectomy..I also have had many surgeries in the past so i have alot of scarring. I only have one ovary I think because I had an ectopic about 16 years ago.

Wow only 23 hours. I think i want to move to Australia! They told me 3-5 days here on Long island in NY..Its going to kill me being locked up in a hospital if I have to stay that long. When I had my kids people would call the house and we would be out and they would leave me a message saying "didn't you just have a baby?" LOL

Anyway, as we can see we aren't alone there are alot of us going through this major life change and hopefully we all pull through with a good outcome!

Hello all! I just found out about this site and it has been really helpful. I'm a little nervous and scared about the surgery. I'm having a TAH on July 29th. I guess I'm so scared because my mom had the surgery two years ago and she had cancer and passed. The information I'm getting for everybody is really calming my nervous.

Re: Surgery 28 Jul, hello from Australia

We are all going in the on Wednesday, good luck to you all as well. I am a little worried about cancer myself I know for sure i have a lot of fibroids and worry that they could be cancerous but honestly I feel like I will jump that hurdel when i get there. i just want to worry about one thing at a time now, the surgery beeing the first thing and hopefully everything will go smooth. I also got word from the dr saying I would have to stay in the hospital 3-5 days but I am going to push to get out in 2...I would rather recover at home..(where I can sneak out if i feel up to it)

Anyway good luck to you all I know exactly how you are all feeling as our impending date approaches!!
