9 weeks post-op; just home from hospital

Last Saturday after my husband and I had sex I immediately was in pain. Constant pain. Percocet didn't touch the pain.

Went in to see doctor on Monday. Was admitted into the hospital that afternoon. Had a CT scan that night. Scan showed fluid build-up and a small pocket of air behind vagina wall. There is also an opening on the vaginal cuff, but not all the way thru to the stomach.

They put me on a morphine pump, 2 antibiotics, and nausea medicine. Doctor said he couldn't do surgery because of the infection because I could become septic. Came home yesterday with 5 prescription. I'm to call doctor is I have any fever and I go back Wednesday.

My husband thinks I will have to have surgery again, after the infection clears. Not sure. Still in pain, and I feel like I'm swollen.

I thought I was doing good, but apparently not. I would advise everyone out there to wait at least 8 weeks for sex and exercise and only partake if the doctor says stitches on the vaginal cuff has healed completely.

I'm sorry that has happened to you. How scary! I would think they will have to go in there and close up the cuff, otherwise it could get infected again. Please keep your feet up and rest, you don't want to compromise your healing any further at this point. Good luck.
