Sex/spotting 8 weeks after surgery

I had a TLH 8 weeks ago & was released at 6 weeks. We had only been intimate once since then. My doctor had said I'd have some spotting. When I did have spotting my husband said, no more, you need to heal more. I've been ready to scream & kept pushing him until he gave in last night. Well....maybe I shouldn't have? It's not heavy bleeding, just spotting and annoying and my husband is one of those that doesn't want near anything that's going to bleed. So, is the spotting normal at 8 weeks and it only being the second time?

Re: Sex/spotting 8 weeks after surgery

My husband and I just had our first time since my TLH on 5/6/13and I too experienced some light spotting and I haven't bled at all since the day of surgery. As long as there is no pain It's probably normal. Hang in there Halfpint1028!

You are not going to like what I'm going to say. I agree with your husband. You probably need more time to heal. I suggest that you wait a little while until the bleeding stops before you try again. When you do maybe have some lube on hand.
I know that it's frustrating, but it will be much better for you and him once you are fully healed. It will happen, but you have to be patient. Hang in there sweetie

Lots of ((HUGS)) to you

Re: Sex/spotting 8 weeks after surgery

Thanks ladies. There's not any pain and the spotting has quit now. I'm just so tired of waiting to heal. I've been so careful not to do anything to mess things up and then when I tried to do things when the doc said it was ok, things went haywire. I've pretty much had to postpone everything by 3 weeks or so with the time table the doc gave me. I guess I should have done the same with this too. I ended up crying and yelling at my husband earlier today over it and told him I hated it when he's right. Of course, once I was finished yelling he just wrapped his arms around me and let me cry. I guess I'll just be a good girl for a few more weeks and behave myself.

Woman, you better thank that man you got a good one. He's looking out for your best interest.
Look I know when you want some you Want some. Makes you really sympathize with the teenage boy going through puberty.
Once you are healed, it will be so much better. Hang in there

Re: Sex/spotting 8 weeks after surgery

I was told that spotting after sex can happen for up to a year and its usually just some granulation tissue. Can be fixed with an office visit and silver nitrate. Call your dr and see what they think. No need to put off sex if it can all be fixed in minutes! Good luck!

I am so thankful for him! He's been so good. I've been in shock over how good he has been! lol After I have one of my hormonal blow ups I always end up crying and telling him how sorry I am. I want off this crazy rollercoaster ride.

Now that you mention it, I do sympathize with the teenage boys, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to hurt the first one that looks at my teenage girl the wrong way. LOL

Thank you GiGi. I think I'll give them a call and see what they say. It's just so irritating. I was looking forward to enjoying our sex life again without blood showing up to mess it all up. There's nothing like feeling like you're on cloud 9 and then get shot down to the ground once you see that.

LOL

Give your doctor a call and see what he says. Hopefully this roller coaster that you are on will end soon.
