Re: Upcoming hysterectomy 4/21: Large growth behind uterus - having problems eating

Hi omg007 -

Welcome to the other side! I am glad your cyst and fibroid were confirmed. I assume all tested and benign. I am glad that you are not in much pain. A small pillow held against your tummy for coughs and sneezes works well for that pain.

This surgery really drains all of your energy. Walking is very good for you, but just do brief walks and SLOWLY build up. This will take awhile for you to be able to walk any distance without totally wearing yourself out.

Glad all is well. I have been sending lots of positive thoughts across the miles your way. Healing hugs and good thoughts to you.

Re: Upcoming hysterectomy 4/21: Large growth behind uterus - having problems eating

Hi Marestail
Just thought I would say hello. Thank you very much for my birthday post it made my day. I am home sitting on the sofa. I had been to the doctors and had the staples checked yesterday all is going well. My bowel still doesn't know whether it's coming or going but checked this site and it seems to be a normal stage. My doctor was not concerned and took the time to reassure me says that my poor stomach had not only being poked and prodded but also been starved and feed repeatedly so no wonder. Hope you are well thanks again for all you surport .
Regards
Omg007
Sending you all my love and hugs

Re: Upcoming hysterectomy 4/21: Large growth behind uterus - having problems eating

Hi omg007 -

I am glad you are home and on the other side at last.

Yes, bowel issues are not uncommon with this surgery. They do quite a bit of work and moving around in there - things are pretty tight and organs get moved around.

If you have not done so already, I want to encourage you to join your surgery week recovery thread: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Apr 20-Apr 26,2015. My thread kept me sane, and I found it very supportive.

Hoping for an uneventful recovery for you. Sending many healing hugs and thoughts your way.

P.S. I am well, and for the support. I am very happy to do it. Sending love and hugs back to you.

Hi Marestail
Just thought I let you know my good news today. All clear on the cancer front. Know just have to make sure staple don't get infected. Half come out on Wednesday 6th. I do hate them I swear I can feel everyone its freaky. Then I am going to crack out a bottle of bubbly and have a drink. Which should be fun as I don't drink one glass is my limit.
Regards

Hi omg007 -

The all is benign news is great! I am so happy for you! You just thought the worst regarding cancer, which is so easy to do, and that was going to be your next battle. That is not silly at all. BUT, now you are free of all of that, and can go on without that hindrance.

Sorry you are having staple issues - I have read that they are a real pain. I had surgical glue, which was not too bad. Just told to leave it alone and do not pick at it.

Enjoy your bubbly. I can't drink more than one glass either, and since surgical menopause took hold, sometimes even that is too hard to do.

Healing hugs and thoughts...
