I have light bleeding and have no clue why

Hi, i went to the doc the other day and asked her about the brownish discharge and the doc said that was normal and it should go away in about a week, well now i have light bleeding and have no clue why. I have no uterus and no cervix so where is the blood coming from? I havent done anything in the last day and a half so why?? Any ideas, or should i call the doc to find out whats up?

Re: I have light bleeding and have no clue why

Kim, you will have light bloody discharge from your vaginal cuff for several weeks. It may increase a little as you become more active (including intercourse, too.) I had a significant increase when I returned to work at 6 weeks and it alarmed me a bit. When I called my GYN, I was told it could go on like that for a few more weeks as I began to resume my normal routine. It eventually stopped. The brownish discharge is probably from your dissolving stitches, which begins around the 2nd and 3rd weeks, which is exactly where you are. Some women actually see little bits of stitches with it. I only saw the brown goo.

You sound completely normal to me, but if the discharge gets heavy (filling a pad in an hour), call your doctor.

I agre I just got of the phone with my GYN, he told me it was normal for light spotting due to the vagina cuff and the sutures healing. I am in my second week

Re: I have light bleeding and have no clue why

OMG, I started having brown discharge today. I barely bled at all from post op, only two days, and that's it. Now, I have brown bleeding. I am exactly at 4 weeks. I hope this means that my stitches are coming out, and I am healing.

Re: I have light bleeding and have no clue why

Yes, some light discharge is totally normal at your stage of this game. Interesting to note is that even after a year, I still get "mini-periods" every four weeks, that would match up with my old period timing. Just very light pink discharge once a month. I was told that it isn't all that uncommon, even a very small amount of cervical tissue that is left can react to the hormones your ovaries may produce monthly.

Re: I have light bleeding and have no clue why

So this is my first post. I had a robotic hysterectomy 3 weeks ago tomorrow July 15th. Things have been going ok and all of a sudden tonight I started bleeding pretty bad and had a fairly good sized blood clot. I freaked and called my doc and he said I probably lost an internal stitch. He is not worried but he wants me to come in on Thursday just to have a look. He said just to take it easy and it should stop. Has this happened to anyone else? He said he knows of this happening, but for some resaon I don't feel better.

Keep track of the flow and pads used. It will help the doctor determine why you are bleeding. Are you still bleeding badly? More than a pad an hour?

My spotting stopped over night. I hope that is the only spotting I have. I want to give away my pads!

Re: I have light bleeding and have no clue why

My bleeding continued for several weeks due to all of the internal stitches I had. The key is to be patient and to look forward to giving away your pads. I gave mine to my sister-in-law with a big smile...lol
