Re: 8 weeks not healed

Animor - did you have any other sypmtoms and signs, that indicated you were not healed?

I am 6 weeks today and still spotting, but no significant pain or cramping.

Re: 8 weeks not healed

My doctor has told me that it may take more than 8 weeks for the cuff to heal. Apparently those inside stitches can take awhile to heal. I'm telling myself 12 weeks just so I don't get disappointed. Sorry you are frustrated! This recovery seems to take forever at times, doesn't it?

Re: 8 weeks not healed

I was not healed at my six week post open even though I followed my postop instructions to the letter. She told me an additional three weeks of healing time was necessary. I was finally healed at my 14 week postop check although I had developed granulation tissue that required treatment. I'm almost 20 weeks postop and am still having some pain. Waiting for an ultrasound appt. She did tell me it is a full year before I can consider myself completely healed.

I was told I was healed at 6 wks. but I feel like crapola on a stick? I'm nearly 8 wks. How long will it take? I really resent doc's telling us we should be fine! Clearly, many of us are not!

Re: 8 weeks not healed

I find it interesting ( ok annoying) that every doctor seems to have a different opinion on how long it will take us to heal..... I read so many different doctors opinions here..... I would rather him tell me 12 weeks then be released early than 8 weeks and be disappointed. He did seem genuinely suprised that I am not healed all the way He gave me more cream after asking if I'd used the script he gave me , which I did although many women aren't given the cream and heal without it. He did use some silver nitrate to help it heal I am trying hard to stay positive today .... At least I can go back to one of m jobs
