LAVH 2 Week Post Hysterectomy Checkup

Hello everyone. I hope you are taking it easy and resting.

Today I went for my 2 week PO checkup. Overall it was a great report. My incisions are healing well, off all pain meds including ibprofuen, activity level good considering post op mark. She released me for tub baths and driving when able. Driving will definitely come in time, but not just yet since i am still very tender. I can pick up too 20 lbs but no more. My pathology results came back with adenmyosis, endometriosis, leiomyoma (fibroids) and 8 ovarian cysts. Whew! No wonder I was in pain. Oh, and I lost 6 lbs. Whohoooo!

The one thing I wanted to post about is my conversation with the doc on the abdominal binder. I asked her opinion and she really does not encourage the use of the binder beyond day 3 or 4. Her reasoning is that the binder keeps you from using/strengthening your abdominal muscles and ultimately prolonging recovery. I just wanted to share that bit of information since I think its important. Also, I am sure that we all want to recover as soon as possible.
