Lupron vs. Menopause

My doctor explained Lupron shots as chemically induced menopause. I've been on Lupron for endometriosis at various times so I know how I feel on it. Now that I'm having a hysterectomy how is real menopause different?

Thanks!

Lupron vs. Menopause

I don't know. I just wanted to wish you luck. I can't take lupron because I had bad side effects. My doctor said it is different for every woman.

Lupron vs. Menopause

Hi Rose Garden,
Lupron is a drug induced menopause and it *throws* you into menopause and if/when you stop taking it you will return to getting your menstruation after a while. Regular menopause is more gradual and when you are completely into menopause, of course, it is permenant. I was on Lupron for 3 months and you do have a lot of side effects give or take but they were not totally unbareable. I hope everything goes well with you.
Take care,
Debbie
