Does anyone know of a book, website, etc for husbands of soon-to-be Princesses? Just thinking it would be good if he had all the info going into this he could.

THanks!

OH man do I!!

Have your hubby go to www.pelvicfloor.com
At this site he can look up the type of hyst your having and see actual photos of surgies at different stages.

This is not for the weak at heart but it will give him a huge appreciation for what your body is going to be going through.

I was pretty amazed myself, it was very informative

I hope this helps, I know it's not a book or anything but it's worth a try.

Hi!

It's nice to know of fellow Mainers who are going through this. I'm in Searsport, a tiny coastal village about an hour from Augusta.

Anyway, I actually ordered the Hystersisters book thru this site and my now-hubby (yeah !!!!) looked through it with me and we discussed the list of things to bring, and the things I'll need to make recovery easier.

He was also able to go to all my dr. appointments with me. The pre-op visit last week was especially important. He got a very good understanding of what was going to happen, and all the things I would and would NOT be able to do.

Hope this helps in a tiny way!

Hey...did you get snow today too? Yikes !!!

Good idea, Carly. Unfortunately, I think he would pass out. I"m very interested in it, though. I'll check it out.

Thanks!!

Hey Fallbride!

Nope, no snow here, but it was supposed to. I used to work with a man from Searsport. I understand it's beautiful up there.

Good ideas with the book from here and taking him to dr appts. I think I'll recommend that to him.

After any surgery, childbirth, etc, I've always bounced back faster than I should, and usually done things I'm not supposed to. I guess I want to be sure he realizes this time will likely be different since it's the most major thing I've had done.

He's very supportive. I just want to be sure he really knows what's going on in there.

Here are two articles from the preop hints and articles section.

FAQ for family and friends:

How others can help:

Once he looks at the pelvic floor site, if he can, then he will understand these much more.
